Basketball Game Preview: Council Grove Braves vs. Mission Valley Vikings + How To Watch

Council Grove is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will square off against the Mission Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Council Grove can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They were beaten by Royal Valley 71-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Braves have suffered since February 4th.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mason Samuels, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. Blaise French was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Mission Valley was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Herington 57-24.

Council Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Mission Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 49-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
