Basketball Recap: Oxon Hill's Winning Streak Snapped at 14 Games

After a string of 14 wins, Oxon Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a blow as they fell 70-54 to the Flowers Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Clippers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Jaguars are ranked 15th).

Oxon Hill's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dashani Coleman, who posted 15 points. Damia Worthy was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Flowers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyla Graham out in front who had 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points gave Graham a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alana Joy, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 17-6. As for Flowers, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Oxon Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flowers, they will challenge Wise on Monday. Flowers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Wise likes a good challenge.
