Baseball Game Preview: Gunderson Grizzlies vs. Overfelt Royals

For the second straight game, Gunderson will face off against Overfelt. The Grizzlies will venture away from home to take on the Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gunderson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Gunderson took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Overfelt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Grizzlies had just enough and edged out the Royals 12-10.

Christian Lucero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Lucero was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Dominic Lake was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Johnny Estrada was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Gunderson lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Gunderson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Overfelt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gunderson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overfelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
