Softball Game Preview: Fairport Red Raiders vs. Webster Schroeder Warriors

Fairport hasn't had much luck against Webster Schroeder recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Raiders will head out to face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Fairport has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Penfield hit Fairport with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders lost 11-3 to the Patriots. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizzie Roessel, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Webster Schroeder posted their closest victory since April 26th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rush-Henrietta, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Royal Comets: they've now won four in a row.

Webster Schroeder's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Fairport, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Fairport might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Webster Schroeder in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
