Basketball Recap: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. Twinsburg Tigers

If Chardon was riding high fresh off their 43-23 takedown of John Hay last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chardon Hilltoppers received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 54-38 to the Twinsburg Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Tigers are ranked 71st).

Despite the loss, Chardon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison Deszczykiewicz dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Deszczykiewicz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Gerlica, who posted nine points and five boards.

Twinsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaci Hutton led the charge by going 5-for-9 on her way to 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
