Basketball Recap: AJ Breslin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pleasant Grove over Turlock

After flying high against Stagg last Saturday, Pleasant Grove came back down to earth. The Pleasant Grove Eagles took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Turlock Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Pleasant Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Breslin, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pharrell Williams, who earned 15 points and three steals.

Pleasant Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Turlock, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.

Pleasant Grove and Turlock could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Pleasant Grove (ranked 671st) will meet Lemoore (ranked 324th) at 3:00 p.m. on December 26th. Meanwhile, Turlock (ranked 673rd) will meet Atwater (ranked 113th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
