Soccer Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northgate can now relate to. They fell just short of the Dougherty Valley Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Broncos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Dougherty Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Northgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dougherty Valley, they will face off against Acalanes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dougherty Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.
