Basketball Recap: Riverside Prep Comes Up Short

Riverside Prep saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 47-34 to the Shadow Hills Knights. While losing is never fun, the Silver Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while the Knights are ranked 499th).

Shadow Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Wiley led the charge by putting up 14 points. Wiley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Williams, who posted 11 points.

Riverside Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Shadow Hills, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Riverside Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Redlands East Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shadow Hills, they and Alta Loma will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Alta Loma will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Shadow Hills surely won't give up without a fight.
