Basketball Recap: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Skyridge Falcons

With a playoff win on the line, Mountain Ridge rose to the challenge on Thursday. They snuck past the Skyridge Falcons with a 59-55 victory. The Sentinels haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kya Newton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7-for-14 to rack up 23 points and three steals. She is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Jessica Maynard was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Merceius Mili, who posted 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Lillian Meyer, who scored nine points.
