Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Sun Academy Beats Psalms Learning Center for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Our Lady of the Sun Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 62-43 win over Psalms Learning Center. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-43 on January 10th.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Gilmor led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds. With that strong performance, Gilmor is now averaging an impressive 8.5 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Joseph Reiss, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Psalms Learning Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy will welcome Brighton Charter at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Psalms Learning Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
