Cross dropped their record down to 9-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the John Paul II Golden Warrriors, falling 18-0. The Stingrays were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Golden Warrriors' pitchers proved too tough.

Cross saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Hollings, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for John Paul II, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Cross: they've now won six in a row.

On John Paul II's side, Lauren Major was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those RBI marked the first that Major has brought in this season. Ellie Heathcott was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

Looking ahead, Cross will face off against Battery Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
