North Sand Mountain came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Glencoe Yellowjackets. Considering the Bison have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mikey Poss made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jaxson Stiles was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Levi Burgess also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Sand Mountain's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Sand Mountain will challenge Pisgah at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pisgah has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something North Sand Mountain will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glencoe, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jacksonville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
