The Blacklick Valley Vikings will take on the Windber Ramblers at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Blacklick Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Blacklick Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rockwood just ended the team's 14-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 10-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this match were averaging 3.5 runs allowed.

Blacklick Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greg Schilling, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Windber fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Conemaugh Valley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Jays by a score of 8-7. The Ramblers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Lucas Oleksa was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Strick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Windber's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Blacklick Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Blacklick Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Windber struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Blacklick Valley beat Windber 9-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ramblers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
