Softball Recap: Nedrose Cardinals vs. Beulah Miners
Nedrose extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-3 in the process. They came up short against the Beulah Miners, falling 16-1. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Miners when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Beulah, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Beulah's part, Addie Dale-Geiger made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Dale-Geiger has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Beulah got a massive performance out of Cassie Christensen, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Christensen has posted over her last 12 contests. Elli Weidner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nedrose is set to face off against their familiar foe Wilton/Wing at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Beulah will square off against rival Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
