Meanwhile, West Scranton got the win against Scranton on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-1. The victory continues a trend for the Invaders in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.
Sophia Deluca made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Deluca was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sydney Williamns was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Bianca Markovitch was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
West Scranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wallenpaupack Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for West Scranton, their record now sits at 4-8.
Everything went Wallenpaupack Area's way against West Scranton when the teams last played on April 2nd, as Wallenpaupack Area made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buckhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
