With a playoff win on the line, St. Ignatius rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the St. Edward Eagles. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The victory was the third in a row for St. Ignatius, bringing their record up to 7-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for St. Edward, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

St. Ignatius will take on Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Polar Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. St. Edward does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
