Basketball Recap: Milby Comes Up Short

Milby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 48-30 to the Sterling Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-26 back in December of 2024.

Sterling's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Destiny Lewis, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Morrow, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Milby's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Sterling, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-12.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Spring Woods the next time they take the court. Sterling will host Spring Woods at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, while Milby will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
