Baseball Recap: Gateway Has No Trouble Against Lely

On Friday, everything went the Gateway Eagles's way against the Lely Trojans as the Gateway Eagles made off with a 19-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Jadon Torres, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Devyn Vitiello, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Gateway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lely only posted an OBP of .389.

Gateway now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lely, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-4 loss against South Fort Myers on the 18th. As for Lely, they have also already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Golden Gate on the 18th.
