Basketball Recap: Tarboro Falls to North East Carolina Prep in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Tarboro kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 37-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North East Carolina Prep Huskies. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

North East Carolina Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Knox out in front who posted eight points and five steals. Breyona Blackston was another key player, putting up nine points.

North East Carolina Prep moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Tarboro and North East Carolina Prep will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Vikings see the court they'll take on Southern Nash at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for North East Carolina Prep, their break will end when they face American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
