Basketball Recap: Payette Takes a Loss

Payette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-25 defeat at the hands of The Ambrose School Archers. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 81-30 to the Archers when the teams met back in December of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Payette's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for The Ambrose School, they pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Payette will welcome Wood River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Wolverines' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for The Ambrose School, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marsing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Archers will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
