Baseball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

If Washington was riding high fresh off their 19-3 takedown of Monessen last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Prexies fell just short of the Brownsville Falcons by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Prexies in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Washington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Coney, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Coney hit this season.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brownsville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
