Basketball Game Preview: Johnston City Indians vs. Vienna Eagles

Johnston City hasn't had much luck against Vienna recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Johnston City Indians will venture away from home to take on the Vienna Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Johnston City is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. The match between them and Sesser-Valier didn't end well, with Johnston City falling 71-54.

Meanwhile, Vienna ended up a good deal behind Goreville on Saturday and lost 63-49. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Blackcats are ranked 109th).

Vienna's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Johnston City, their loss dropped their record down to 8-21.

Johnston City was dealt a bruising 72-33 defeat at the hands of Vienna in their previous meeting on February 7th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Johnston City was down 40-20.
