Baseball Recap: Virginia High Comes Up Short

Virginia High fell victim to Richlands and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Blue Tornado by a score of 1-0. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Tornado earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Virginia High and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 5-7 Tazewell and 9-10 Richlands. As for Richlands, they pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Virginia High is set to square off against their familiar foe Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Richlands will take on rival Tazewell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
