Softball Recap: London Extends Winning Streak to Six

London had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They put the hurt on the Indian Lake Lakers with a sharp 9-3 victory. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 win the Lakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Khloe Cunningham was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Spencer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: London kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matches.

London pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. London will welcome Urbana at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders are facing the Hillclimbers at the right time seeing as the Hillclimbers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Indian Lake, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Northwestern at 5:15 p.m.
