Basketball Recap: Taya Plew and Brooklyn Verwey Secure Win for Kimberly

Kimberly hadn't done well against Snake River recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Everything went the Kimberly Bulldogs' way against the Snake River Panthers as the Kimberly Bulldogs made off with a 51-25 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bulldogs have posted since January 29th.

Kimberly was led to victory by Brooklyn Verwey and Taya Plew. Verwey dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Plew posted 14 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Plew a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Chavez, who earned six points.

Kimberly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

The win got Kimberly back to even at 4-4. As for Snake River, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kimberly and Buhl will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Snake River will take on Blackfoot in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
