Volleyball Recap: Riverdale's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over + How To Watch

Riverdale dropped down to 11-6-1 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orion Chargers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the defeat, Riverdale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lola Wainwright had five digs and five aces. With that strong performance, Wainwright is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game. Devan Reikard was another key player, getting seven kills and five digs.

As for Orion, the victory got them back to even at 9-9. They haven't had any issues with Riverdale recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Leading Orion to victory were Khloe Nelson and Kendyl Filler. Nelson had 13 assists and three digs, while Filler had seven digs. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Riverdale has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Morrison on the 24th. As for Orion, they will venture away from home to face off against Mercer County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
