Basketball Game Preview: Triangle Math & Science Tigers vs. Eno River Academy Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Triangle Math & Science Tigers take on the Eno River Academy Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday... Triangle Math & Science will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Triangle Math & Science will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Chatham Charter, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Triangle Math & Science came out on top against Chatham Charter by a score of 38-25 on Thursday.

Triangle Math & Science had a senior duo take command as Noor Rana went 7 of 13 on her way to 19 points and three steals and Zainab Mcelhinney dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Mcelhinney a new career-high in blocks (five). Amritha Tatineni was another key player, putting up two points along with six steals and five assists.

Triangle Math & Science smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Eno River Academy suffered their biggest loss since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 53-27 to Roxboro Community. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

Triangle Math & Science has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points per game. As for Eno River Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Triangle Math & Science strolled past Eno River Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 34-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for Triangle Math & Science since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
