Basketball Game Preview: Anoka Tornadoes vs. Centennial Cougars

The Anoka Tornadoes will head out to face off against the Centennial Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anoka knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Anoka didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Blaine, but they still walked away with a 84-78 victory. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Bengals are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Centennial hadn't done well against Andover recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Centennial walked away with an 86-77 win over Andover.

Anoka's record is now 12-3. As for Centennial, their record is now 8-10.

Anoka came up short against Centennial when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 79-75. Can Anoka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
