Basketball Recap: Twiggs Academy Takes a Loss

Twiggs Academy and Memorial Day squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Twiggs Academy had to settle for second. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Memorial Day Matadors. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Leading Memorial Day to victory were Johnkeria Miles and Lillie Brown. Miles dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Brown went 12-for-14 en route to 24 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Miles is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 14 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyla Edwards, who posted five points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

Twiggs Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Memorial Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Twiggs Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Memorial Day, they will face off against Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
