After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nashville, Mascoutah was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They secured a 58-54 W over the Mater Dei Knights. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 50-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Mater Dei lost, don't look at Gavin Peppenhorst. Despite the final result, he shot 45% from the field en route to 29 points and three blocks. That was a full 53.7% of the Knights' points, marking the fourth time in a row Peppenhorst has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckett Wade, who had nine points.

Mascoutah is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Mater Dei, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Mascoutah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-52 win against Edwardsville on the 27th. As for Mater Dei, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-35 victory against Madison on the 27th.
