Basketball Recap: Xavier Eddington and Sterling Bohn Secure Win for Combine Academy Global

On Thursday, the Combine Academy Global Goats were able to grind out a solid win over the Winston Salem Christian Lions, taking the game 52-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Goats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Lions are ranked 31st).

Combine Academy Global was led to victory by Sterling Bohn and Xavier Eddington. Bohn went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds, while Eddington dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Eddington is becoming a predictor of Combine Academy Global's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 5-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Simbarashe Bete was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Combine Academy Global and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Winston Salem Christian, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Combine Academy Global will venture away from home to take on Greater Vision Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Combine Academy Global is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season. As for Winston Salem Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Charlotte Elite Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
