Volleyball Recap: Tanalian Takes Down Nelson Island in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tanalian walked away with it. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Nelson Island Islanders on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lynx who have now won four matchups in a row.

Erik McGee paced Tanalian's offense, picking up 19 kills. McGee got some help from Jordan Alsworth and her 11 assists. Silas Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Tanalian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4-1 record this season. As for Nelson Island, they moved to 24-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Tanalian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Shaktoolik on the 7th. Nelson Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
