Baseball Recap: Lake Ridge Comes Up Short

Lake Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boswell Pioneers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Lake Ridge got a good showing from Hayden Jones, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Yates, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Lake Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-15-3. As for Boswell, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-3.

While Lake Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
