Softball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Morristown Yellow Jackets

Triton Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against Morristown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Tigers will challenge the Yellow Jackets at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Triton Central can't be too worried about heading out to take on Morristown: they just beat Lebanon at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Triton Central put the hurt on Lebanon with a sharp 10-2 victory on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Triton Central sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Triton Central let Jayda McKee and Olivia Schaadt run wild. McKee went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Schaadt went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Schaadt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hittle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Triton Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Morristown came out on top against South Decatur on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Yellow Jackets were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Cougars. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' most dominant win of the season.

Triton Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Morristown, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.

Triton Central took their victory against Morristown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
