Recap: River Rouge Panthers vs. King Crusaders
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the River Rouge Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They and King were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but River Rouge suffered an agonizing 20-19 loss. River Rouge's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
River Rouge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Nicholas Marsh, who picked up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Rucker iii, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
River Rouge's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for King, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
River Rouge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. King is on the road again on Saturday and play against Mason at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. Mason is on a six-game streak of home wins, King a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
