Preview: Mississinewa Indians vs. Alexandria-Monroe Tigers

Mississinewa is 8-1 against Alexandria-Monroe since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mississinewa Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Mississinewa is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.

Last Saturday, Mississinewa escaped with a win against Western by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Mississinewa can attribute much of their success to Jesse Simpkins, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simpkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Preston McCann, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Alexandria-Monroe suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 71-45 loss at the hands of Oak Hill. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alexandria-Monroe in their matchups with Oak Hill: they've now lost five in a row.

Mississinewa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Mississinewa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Alexandria-Monroe in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mississinewa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
