Softball Recap: Stratford Has No Trouble Against Westhill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Haven, Stratford was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Westhill Vikings with a sharp 14-2 win.

Stratford got a great performance from Morgan Letizia as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Shyan Rolle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Rolle is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Olivia Leimgruber was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Stratford now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stratford will take on Weston at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westhill, they will face off against Foran at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
