Baseball Recap: Pendleton Takes a Loss

If Pendleton was feeling good fresh off their 15-9 takedown of West-Oak last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Travelers Rest Devildogs by a score of 8-6 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Devildogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Ayden Clay put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clay was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cody Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Pendleton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Travelers Rest, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-12.

Coming up, Pendleton will host Council Rock North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Travelers Rest, they will venture away from home to take on Blue Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
