Baseball Game Preview: Baker County Wildcats vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

The Baker County Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Baker County's offense. They came up short against Clay on Friday, falling 11-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine made easy work of Palatka on Friday and carried off a 12-2 win. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

St. Augustine got a great performance from Dalton Greene as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

At the plate, Caiden Smith was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Kirk, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

St. Augustine's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Baker County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
