Basketball Recap: Luke Childers and Brennan Reese Secure Win for Pine Hills Adventist

Pine Hills Adventist had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Fire Wolves 53-37 on Wednesday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 39-25 win the Fire Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Pine Hills Adventist was led to victory by Brennan Reese and Luke Childers. Reese went 11 for 19 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks, while Childers went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Reese is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Gatling, who posted five points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Pine Hills Adventist's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Hills Adventist will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chesterton Academy of Sacramento at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, they will venture away from home to square off against Lindhurst at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
