Baseball Recap: Lloyd Memorial Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Lloyd Memorial brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let the Holmes Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The Juggernauts haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Luke Landers was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lloyd Memorial's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Jayden Jasper was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lloyd Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Lloyd Memorial back to even at 7-7. As for Holmes, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lloyd Memorial will square off against Bishop Brossart at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holmes, they will face off against Villa Madonna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
