Football Recap: Mead Starts off Right with Win over Pueblo South + How To Watch

Mead had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Pueblo South Colts 42-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mavericks just coasted through the last quarter.

Ethan Elmore was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 192 yards and three TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and one score on only six carries. Those 192 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Eli Davis was another key player, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mead proved: they limited Pueblo South to a paltry 1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Josh Gonsalves for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mead didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

Mead's defense didn't let Caeden Herrera., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. Pueblo South's QB won't forget Caleb Fahlin anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
