Basketball Recap: Jordan Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ord over Broken Bow

Ord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Broken Bow Indians. The Chanticleers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ord's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Williams, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Landon Critel, who went 7-for-8 on his way to 16 points.

Broken Bow's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Nowak, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave Nowak a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (71%). Braxtton Johnson was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 14 points and four blocks.

Ord's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Broken Bow, their record is now 7-13.

Ord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-49 victory against O'Neill on the 14th. As for Broken Bow, they have also already played their next game, a 66-43 defeat against Cozad on the 14th.
