Soccer Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Vernon can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Carterville Lions on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Mt. Vernon in their meetings with Carterville: they've now lost eight in a row.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Carterville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4-3.

As of now, neither Mt. Vernon nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
