Basketball Recap: Goshen Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Goshen Warriors came up short against the Seton Saints and fell 49-41. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Saints are ranked 103rd).

Seton was led to victory by Kaitlyn Hess and Marissa Hunt. Hess went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and six steals, while Hunt almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those six steals gave Hess a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Goshorn, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Goshen has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Seton, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goshen will square off against Clinton-Massie on Thursday. As for Seton, they will face off against Badin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Badin will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Seton surely won't give up without a fight.
