Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cumberland Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 16-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Brennan Struck was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Cumberland, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Heritage will challenge rival Okaw Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cumberland is set to face off against their familiar foe Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
