Basketball Recap: Monrovia Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monrovia can now relate to. They came up short against the Parke Heritage Wolves on Saturday, falling 64-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since December 27, 2024.

Despite the loss, Monrovia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoie Walls almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Camryn Wolfe was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Emma Simpson was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine boards for Parke Heritage. Simpson has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Raegan Ramsay, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Parke Heritage, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.

Monrovia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parke Heritage, they are on the road again on Saturday to play South Knox at 10:00 a.m. One thing working in South Knox's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
