Softball Recap: Caldera Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Caldera's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the South Salem Saxons 23-3. With that victory, Caldera brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Morgan Voll was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Elle Morton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.

Voll wasn't the only one making solid contact: Caldera kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Caldera's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for South Salem, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Caldera will take on Bend at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Caldera their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for South Salem, they will face off against South Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
