Soccer Recap: Downey Comes Up Short

Downey was the 4-0 winner over Modesto when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Downey Knights fell just short of the Modesto Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Panthers are ranked 991st).

Downey's loss dropped their record down to 13-4-3. As for Modesto, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-16-3.

As of now, neither Downey nor Modesto have any future games scheduled.
