Soccer Game Preview: Midtown vs. Greater Atlanta Christian

The Midtown Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Greater Atlanta Christian will be up against a hot Midtown team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. The Knights' defense stepped up to hand M.L. King a 12-0 shutout on Friday. Midtown's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last eight contests.

Meanwhile, Greater Atlanta Christian made easy work of White County on Tuesday and carried off a 10-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Greater Atlanta Christian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while White County are ranked 305th).

Greater Atlanta Christian pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven games. As for Midtown, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
